MAR is a peer-reviewed academic journal showcasing original scholarly work written by Muhlenberg undergraduate students across all disciplines. This journal was resurrected from a combination of past academic reviews in Spring 2017 by the officers from the Muhlenberg chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honors Society. We accept work from all disciplines so long as they meet our requirements. Both student written and run, we believe that MAR’s easily accessible collection of research based academic works will encourage our community to engage with the passions of their peers.
MAR is an acronym for the Muhlenberg Academic Review, but our founders were also inspired by the dual meaning of the word, which is a synonym for “sea.” True to the nature of its name, MAR reflects the fluid and evolving creativity of our student body. Oftentimes, we are limited by the boundaries that exist between disciplines, neglecting to think about the ways that our programs of study engage with one another. MAR seeks to highlight these connections, spurring stimulating discourse and bringing our campus community closer together.
